Saw the 'orthopod' today and she did a thorough examination (x-rays, physical manipulation, etc) and injected my left knee and right shoulder.  We still may need a MRI for the shoulder.... she said to call her in two weeks and advise her how the 'corticasteroid' was working for me and it I still experience pain and restricted range of motion, she'll order the MRI and see me again there after.  Looks like more 'pain management' and possible surgery.  Time will tell.  Oh yes, she said no gym for a few days and then I may experiment once again.   Maybe Friday.
