OK.... here's Tuesday's report. I'm both happy and sad. Sad because my weight creeped up to a booming 238.0, highest ever! Happy because I'm actually feeling a lot better. I must begin charting at least beginning efforts to reduce my intake. Here we go... I've eaten nothing today to this point (3:15pm) except coffee. My first meal will be dinner. Not a good way to start but I guess there's no good way to say NO to food. I will try to not eat after dinner as a good step forward (except maybe a piece of fruit). Tomorrow I'll try to begin sort of a regime.
Back to today's workout. Got to the gym at about 1pm and left about 2pm. I did a 17:30 elliptical with beginning pulse of 85 and a finishing one of 144 to start (remember, Tues and Thurs are my cardio and light resistance days). I did abs, back, and chest; three sets of 10R each. I did all with good form and late set hesitation (and some negs). I'm feeling stronger; did some hesitation flies with 40 and 45lbs DB, (10R each) no straining necessary. I think I may try to up the reps from 10 to 12, working up to 15. Any thoughts???
I predict I'll begin showing weight loss tomorrow! I'm awfully handsome at 238 though.
238 is too heavy.....Glad you didn't blow off Monday's workout. I;ve also been doing flies. I don;t use that kinda weight, but I do 12 reps minimum, and I;ve noticed a difference in my strength. Not sure hesitations are necessary, I would lower the weight on the flies and increase the reps. 12 to 15. Sounds like a lot, but its certainly better. 5 sets instead of three with less weight 30 lbs with wider arms. Busy as hell here...barely keein up...
ReplyDeleteMan, you must be eating like crazy...
ReplyDeleteI've got the opposite problem. 137.4 this morning.
I think that's too much weight. 45 lb DB.
ReplyDeleteI think you need to get rid of that verification to leave a comment.
How?
Deleteyour body is like a machine...You need to feed it in small amounts and frequently. The worst possible thing for your health and your weight loss is to skip many meals and then have one big meal later in the day.
ReplyDeleteIt is better to have a bigger 1st meal and then taper meals off to smaller and smaller as the day goes on.
This does not mean eat tons of food 5 times a day. It means to eat 1/3 of your normal portion of food at a meal time and then increase the amount of meals you have per day.
This will increase your metabolism and therefore increase your body's "Fat Burning Machine". If you starve yourself and miss meals, you body will treat the incoming food as far and few between and it will STORE it. AKA Fat.
Trust me on this, I've stayed at a holiday inn express once.
And by the way...nutrition in your case is much more important than working out. If you changed your eating habits for the better, I promise you would see more weightloss than if you DIDNT change your eating habits and went to the gym everyday!
